Your records stay on your device
HullCanvas stores vessel details, haul-out projects, mapped findings, work history, measurements, photos and attached documents in the app's local storage. No account is required. We do not operate a server that receives these records, and the app has no analytics, advertising, location tracking or third-party data collection SDKs.
Photos and camera
You choose which photos to import using Apple's photo picker. Camera access is requested only when you take a photo. Imported and captured photos are resized and re-encoded without their original EXIF or GPS metadata. PDF documents retain their original contents and metadata.
Purchases
Apple processes optional HullCanvas Pro purchases. The app checks Apple-verified purchase entitlements to unlock features. We do not receive your payment card information.
Sharing and backups
Nothing is shared automatically. You can export selected reports or a complete project archive through the system share sheet. Archives include all project data, costs, images and documents. Check the recipients and report options before sharing. Your device's backups may include app data according to your Apple settings. HullCanvas v1 does not provide project sync through iCloud.
Deletion and retention
Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app. Settings → Delete all projects & media removes the local library, recovery backups, media and app-created temporary exports. Copies you shared or stored outside the app, and device backups, must be deleted separately. Export a private archive before removing the app if you want to keep your records.

If you email us, we receive the information you voluntarily include and use it to answer your request. Please avoid sending private vessel documents unless needed. Contact hello@oakandfinchinteractive.com for privacy questions.
Changes
Any material change to these practices will be described in an updated policy. The effective date appears above.
