Optional sample day
A new installation starts without preloaded schools or assignments. If you choose the fictional sample, its changes stay in memory for that session and are discarded when you exit the sample or close the app. The sample does not add a retained assignment, school profile, or free-day usage. Any sample report you explicitly export is handled like other shared files.
Information stays on your device
BellLoom is published by Oak & Finch Interactive LLC. The app stores school profiles, schedules, imported source documents and images, recognized text, lesson tasks and their status, notes, handoff drafts, retention preferences, and a monthly free-day counter locally on your device. BellLoom does not send this content to a developer-operated server and has no custom account or automatic cross-device sync.
Camera and document processing
When you choose to scan paper plans, BellLoom requests camera permission and uses Apple's document scanner and on-device Vision text recognition. Imported PDFs, images, and text files are processed locally. Source pages remain with the assignment until it is deleted. No remote AI or OCR service receives them. Only import documents your school permits you to use on the device.
Authentication and notifications
Optional app lock uses Apple's device-owner authentication. BellLoom does not receive your Face ID data or device passcode. Optional transition notifications and Live Activities show timing information without classroom notes or user-entered period titles. You control camera, notification, and Live Activity permissions in device Settings.
Sharing and clipboard
You choose whether to export a handoff as PDF or text, print, or copy it. You can exclude notes and edit the preview before sharing. BellLoom does not attach the original lesson-plan pages to the handoff. The destination you select receives the content and handles it under its own practices. Clipboard copies are local to the device and set to expire after a short period. Copies already saved or shared elsewhere must be managed separately.
Retention, backup, and deletion
You can delete individual days or all classroom days in Settings & privacy. A closed day's retention choice determines its expiry; expired records are removed when BellLoom next opens or returns to the foreground. School profiles and the monthly free-day counter are stored separately and survive classroom-day deletion. You can remove school profiles independently. BellLoom excludes its application data from device backup; there is no cloud recovery service. Deleting the app removes its local data. Export information you need before deleting it or changing devices. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase records stored only on your device.
Purchases
Apple processes BellLoom Pro purchases. BellLoom uses StoreKit to verify the lifetime entitlement and restore access. The app does not receive payment-card information or send transaction data to a developer-operated server. Apple handles App Store transactions and platform services under its own privacy practices. Deleting local data does not refund a purchase.
Advertising and analytics
BellLoom has no advertising, third-party tracking, or developer analytics service. It does not track activity across other companies' apps or websites. Apple may process purchases, diagnostics, and platform reports under its own settings and policies.
Support correspondence
If you email hello@oakandfinchinteractive.com, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain related support records. Email providers process normal email delivery. Please use fictional or redacted examples and omit student information, protected classroom documents, passwords, and payment details. Contact us about privacy questions or support-correspondence requests.
Changes and scope
This policy describes BellLoom version 1.0. We will update this page and its date when the app's practices change. It covers the app; website hosting and contact-form practices are described in the separate Oak & Finch Interactive website privacy policy.
