Your projects stay on your device
ShelfWaypoint stores project names, source and destination labels, measurements, CSV import history and original cells, draft scenarios, approved plans, checkpoints, exceptions, operator and owner labels, shelf readings, local archives, and generated exports in the app's storage on your device. The app does not send these records to a publisher-operated server. No ShelfWaypoint account is required.
You choose what to enter. Operator and owner fields can contain a team or role label instead of a person's name. Patron and borrower records are not required. Avoid entering information your institution does not permit on the device.
Camera and QR checkpoints
If you choose to scan a checkpoint, ShelfWaypoint uses Apple's system scanner and requests camera permission. The app reads the QR identifier for the project, version, cart, and checkpoint. It does not save camera images or upload camera frames to the publisher.
Manual checkpoint confirmation works without camera access. You can change camera permission in device Settings.
Files, sharing, and device backups
You may select a CSV or JSON file through Files. Imported content is processed locally. You may also export reports, print packets, or share a project backup using system controls. The destination you choose, such as another app, email, a printer, or a cloud file provider, receives the content you share and handles it under its own practices.
ShelfWaypoint does not implement automatic cross-device synchronization or cloud collaboration. Device backups and files saved to a cloud provider may nevertheless be handled by Apple or that provider according to your settings. These services are separate from the app's local project storage.
Purchases
Apple processes the optional Professional in-app purchase. ShelfWaypoint uses StoreKit to check a verified purchase entitlement and restore access. The publisher does not receive your payment-card information through the app. Apple handles its purchase and platform services under its own privacy practices.
Advertising, analytics, and tracking
The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It does not operate a separate developer analytics endpoint. Apple may process App Store transactions, device diagnostics, or reports under its own settings and policies.
Keeping and deleting information
Saved projects and archives remain on your device until removed. Creating a new project, restoring a backup, or restoring the fictional demo preserves the current saved project as an archive. Those actions do not erase earlier saved data.
The current app has no individual archive-deletion control. To remove all app-local projects, archives, and generated exports, use Delete App, rather than Offload App, in device Settings. Export anything you want to retain first.
Copies previously shared to Files, email, other apps, printers, or device backups must be managed separately with those destinations. Deleting the app does not cancel or refund a one-time App Store purchase. We cannot access or remotely delete project files stored solely on your device.
Contacting support
If you email hello@oakandfinchinteractive.com, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request, investigate the reported problem, and maintain related support records. Normal email delivery may involve email providers.
Do not send patron details, passwords, payment information, or restricted collection locations. Prefer a fictional or redacted example. Contact us with questions or requests about support correspondence.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date if the app's practices change. This policy describes the current prerelease app. Website hosting, technical logs, and contact-form processing are described separately in the Oak & Finch Interactive website privacy policy.
